Mansfield - Did You Know?

Mansfield is a historic mining town in Nottinghamshire, and mining subsidence has caused problems with properties in the area.

Mansfield is a market town with a tradition that dates back 700 years. The Royal Charter was issued in 1227.

Mansfield Brewery was once the largest independent brewer in the UK. In the 80s, it's bitter was advertised with a photograph of president Ronald Regan: "He might be president of the most powerful nation on earth... but he's never had a pint of Mansfield"

Following the demolition of it's former Leisure Centre, Mansfield now is the largest British town not to have a municipal squash court. The centre was demolished to make way for Tesco, after being refurbished only a few years earlier.
